What should Amazon Sellers do after Black Friday?
Black Friday remains one of the biggest sales opportunities for Amazon Sellers across the world, but once it’s finished every year, what should you do next?

Thompson and Holt senior case handler Laura Monk has significant experience selling on Amazon and believes there are steps that you can take which can have long-term benefits for your business.
Monk explained: “In many cases months and months of planning can go into maximising the opportunities that Black Friday presents for Amazon Sellers. Many businesses carefully plot out how they can make the most of the increased online traffic worldwide.
“But once that is finished, what we see at Thompson and Holt is that many of those shelve their Black Friday focus until later next year. Instead, you could be taking measures that will help you significantly when that time comes around.
“Now is an excellent time to analyse what has worked and what hasn’t, so that you can implement better practises in 2023. Take time to review how your product description, bullet points and images have looked and whether you feel that they have attracted customers to you business.
“Using tools like Amazon Story Builder or Discovery Engine can help you see which keywords were used most often, and it is also worth comparing your performance to your competitors in terms of how your site has looked and worked. Are there rivals Sellers that have impressed you or caught your eye? Don’t be afraid mimics good practise.
“If you sell products that are often repeat purchases, then Black Friday is an excellent chance to refresh your marketing strategy. If everything has gone to plan, you could well have new customers to your brand that will be looking to order again when the time is right.

“You can also look at purchase interval reports, which allow you to see the frequency of when shoppers come back to you again on average, which provides another insight. Has Black Friday seen you attract new customers that will come back again and again in the future? If so, that can be something you look to repeat and improve on next year.
“In short, don’t rest on your laurels once Black Friday is over and focus moves away from what has become a major online event. It still produces opportunities to improve, learn and grow your business, and they shouldn’t be overlooked. Writing a formal report on your own performance can be a really positive way to maximise everything that you’ve done and make strides forward in the future.”
